Real Theology: Ministering to Our Veterans

On Veterans Day weekend, we held the third in our Real Theology series, this time focusing on  care for our Veterans and the real needs for mental health and educational support of returning service personnel. Our guest speakers was Daryle Dennis, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at Western Connecticut State University. Dean Dennis discussed the innovative programs the university has put in place to address the various needs of  the increasing number of veterans in its student body. He also announced that the University would be partnering with our church to offer workshops in military ministry for local clergy.

Real Theology is a series of monthly series .dealing with an issue that many people in our community face but often do not bring up during our joys and concerns during services.  These have included environmental stewardship (September) and the issue of indgenous peoples and the presence of undocumented families in the community (October).
