Music Minstry: 'Prepare the Way of the Lord'
Setting the stage for Advent
(Posted December 4, 2015)
First I would like to thank Stephen Dickson for his wonderful solo of mark Hayes’s “Prepare the Way of the Lord.” It set the ‘stage’ for the coming Advent weeks. I also have to thank the choir as some of them were struggling with colds and a loss of voice! Their presence is always a joy, and I appreciate those who were “under the weather" for coming out and singing.
I am so excited about the music for the next several weeks – Advent. Having the choir here is always a pleasure. The choice of musical selections is so immense that I wish we had several Sundays – like during Lent which is several weeks long – to sing many of them.
Children's Concert on December 6
Anyway, we need to look forward to December 6th when the church children will sing a selection from their concert that is scheduled for later that afternoon at 3 o'clock. The choir will also sing two selections. There is also a little musical surprise for our ‘old sweater day’ service, December 13th.
AND, if you have a favorite Holiday song you would like played before the service, please let me know.
