Music Ministry: Men's Quartet To Be Featured
Join us for a sing-along of patriotic songs after the service
(Posted July 4, 2015)
This Sunday’s service - which begins at 9:30 a.m. -- has a three-fold theme. It is our Annual Independence Day service featuring a men’s quartet with a celebrative festive post-service sing-along of Patriotic songs. Pastor Pat will preach about Jesus’ encounter in his home town, and it is also communion Sunday – the first Sunday of each month. The musical selections and hymns will reflect these subjects.
The following Sunday, July 12, I have Mary Larew, Director of the Danbury Music Centre, returning as the violin soloist for that service. She is an accomplished violinist, who also has a wonderful soprano voice and will hopefully lead us in the singing of hymns for that service.
I want to thank Nancy Wildman for her wonderful renditions of “Lord, I Hope this Day is Good”, and “Sweet Hour of Prayer.” She is a favorite, and a blessing to our congregation. It is always a pleasure and a privilege to work with Nancy.
Correction on last week’s message: the organ flutes that were played during the Prelude were 2, 4, and not 6, but 8 foot pipes. It was an unusual prelude that I hope brought out the beautiful tones of those pipes.
