Music Ministry: Exquisite Blends
Compositions delivered with confidence.
(March 6, 2015) I want to thank Kelly Dielsi and Nancy Wildman for their duet! They rehearsed diligently the composition composed by Handel and delivered it with confidence. I picked this ‘unfamiliar’ selection as I thought it suited their voices and because I believe very few have ever heard it. Their blend was exquisite!
The postlude, which is always a challenge for me, was a Mendelssohn transcript composed and arranged by Carlos Rossini. I had worked on it for several weeks in hopes of creating a feeling of joy. It is from a Wedding anthology and could be used as a processional or recessional. I, of course, used it as the latter.
Choir is scheduled to sing at the next two services. Rehearsals will be before and after service.
Doug Hartline and his group will return for Jazz Sunday this month on March 22nd. I still have a few of his latest CD, which I think is quite enjoyable. Let the office know if you are interested in purchasing one, or see me after Sunday’s service. The cost is $10.
Patricia will begin rehearsing with our church school children for Easter. This will occur for a short while right after they leave the sanctuary.
Peace through music, Jim Moriarty, Music Director
