Our music: A visit from an dear friend

(Posted July 23, 2016)
t has been a joy to watch two of our choir members work together – with very little help from me, to put together a special anthem related to the theme of this Sunday’s sermon. They will also be leading us in the singing of the hymns and the preservice hymn singing.
Speaking of our hymn sing, we will do it again this Sunday, but not next Sunday. I will be away next week.  Howard Rovics and Cheryl Hill will be leading the service, musically.
Finally, I want to thank Levon Ofgang for his musical contributions at our service this past Sunday.
For all those who have been members for over twenty years, I’d like to mention that Pat and I had the opportunity to have lunch with Keith Toth this past week. Keith was our organist and choir director for nine years.  He was returning from the Cape and stopped in Danbury to have lunch with us and a couple of his former choir members. He has been the music director at the Brick Presbyterian Church in NYC for over twenty-two years.  He is looking very good and is very well known and respected in the AGO. He has a choir of about twenty, seventeen of which are paid! He has a huge endowment fund that he uses to pay these soloist!
Peace through music,
Jim Moriarty
