Music Minsitry: Christmas is Our Season to Enjoy Sights and Sounds
Looking forward to a special duet our at Christmas Eve service.
(Posted December 18, 2015)
Christmas season is our time to celebrate and enjoy the sights and sounds. Holiday music is everywhere…movies, TV specials, radio, concert halls, churches… There are so many songs - carols, hymns, popular… the list just goes on. This past Sunday, the theme was Joy and humor found within the bible. Joy was certainly felt during this past Sunday’s service. I have to thank my choir for their very fine musical presentations.
Thousands of musical directors throughout the world spend hours looking for what they think will be the best music for their choir or chorus. Hymns are as important to the church service as they need to be uplifting and reflective of Bible readings and sermon themes. There are so many great songs I wish there was eight weeks to this season! Anyway, without rambling on… I hope to have chosen both appropriate and pleasing songs. One last note… I am looking forward to a very special duet at our Christmas Eve service! (7 p.m.)
I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy, Healthy New Year. May the music of this season bring you both Peace and Joy! -- Jim Moriarty
