From Pastor Pat: What makes a Welcoming Church?
Review of insights from adults and children, long-time and new members.
(Posted October 17, 2015)
This coming Jazz Sunday, I will be sharing with all of you the results of the survey that I conducted this past Spring as part of my studies in ethnography. Our respondents included adults and children, long-time and brand new members, people who have served in leadership positions and those who have yet to volunteer. Some of their responses will truly surprise you.
We’ll discover why people who have come to First Church have chosen to stay, and what parts of our life together enrich the experience of a faith community. All of these things are extremely important for us to know as we move forward toward an even stronger church community.
During Coffee Hour, we’ll be able to go into more depth on the survey, including handling any questions any of us might have that grow from the survey results.
The Road to Stewardship Sunday: We are most grateful to have Pat Mitchell chairing the 2015-16 Stewardship campaign again this year. Stewardship Sunday will be on November 8, 2015. Each Sunday leading up to that day we will be hearing from one of our congregation members about their unique First Church experience. All of us look forward to having your support as we move forward through this year’s theme, which is Hope and Promise. -- Pastor Pat Kriss
